Who I am and what I do.
I’m Karen, a finance and retirement coach who helps mid-life women figure out their finances so they have the freedom and flexibility to live the life they want, now and in retirement.
I help women get intentional with their money, so it becomes a tool to help them build the life they want. And we have fun while doing it. Money can be soooo serious. I try to lighten things up so you actually look forward to our money meetings.
By focusing on 3 key areas of finances: habits, mindset and financial literacy, I empower my clients to take charge of their finances and use money as a tool to create their ideal life.
Who I work with.
I help mid-life career women who are ready to take charge of their financial future. They want more freedom and flexibility in their lives so they can focus on travel, their health and their families. But downshifting their career, pursuing passion projects or retiring often come with reduced income. They want their money to give them options like retiring early, taking a career break, or extended travel.
These women are smart and capable and have done well in life, but as they shift gears toward retirement, semi-retirement or a career change, they know they’re going to have to “up their money game." In the past, the money just kind of took care of itself. Now, they want to be intentional with their finances because they feel a need for change. And they know that if they don't make any changes, well...nothing will change.
What we do together.
We work on you and your finances. We dive into your money beliefs and look at how they might be getting in your way. My goal is for you to feel knowledgeable and empowered with your finances so you can use money intentionally to live the life you want.
We dig into the nitty-gritty practical aspects of your finances. We work on your money habits, get your money organized, and create a spending plan that meets your unique needs.
Finally, we build your financial literacy so you understand the investment world, how to grow your money, and how to figure out exactly how to calculate your retirement needs. Then we look at strategies to get you there - even if you’re starting your investment journey late, or have had a financial setback.
A bit about me.
I completely understand what it feels like to wonder if you’ll ever be able to retire, or whether what you’ve saved will be enough. To feel like you’re doing all the right things but still coming up short.
For most of my life, money took care of itself. I had a great career with a healthy income. Then, a poor business decision knocked me off course. At the time, it felt like everything was falling apart—but looking back, I’m truly grateful for that experience. It was the turning point that completely shifted my approach to money.
Today, I feel confident and calm with my finances and believe me, if I can do it, so can you.
PS: That's me volunteering with the Karen Hill Tribe in Thailand. How cool is it that I literally found my own tribe? My 8 month career break was a dream-come-true and I got there by using my values-based money plan method. Your dream may look different, but I would LOVE to hear about it and help you achieve it.
